Dr. James C. Swanson
Dr. Jim Swanson has been practicing dentistry for 37
years, following his graduation from St. Louis University,
Missouri in 1969. He started his dental practice from
scratch in his hometown of Pueblo, Colorado. His outstanding
reputation for perfection in dentistry along with his
hilarious sense of humor has earned him countless loyal
patients and professional accolades.
Dr. Swanson is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry
and a graduate of the esteemed Pankey Institute, and
Misch Implant Institute. He is a member of the American
Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and
is a founder of the Southeastern Colorado Dental Study
Club. Dr. Swanson has been a preceptor for students
graduating from the University of Colorado School of
Dentistry for the last 12 years.
Dr. Swanson truly excels in all types of general dentistry
and is humble about his outstanding work.
He and his wife, Bennie, have been married 41 years
and have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Dr. Swanson
is a devoted, compassionate dentist and family man whose
most famous quote is, “Nada major que esto”
– which loosely translated means, “It doesn’t
get any better than this!”

Dr. Jamie Johnson
Dr. Jamie Johnson, also known as "The Dental Diva",
has been practicing dentistry for 10 years in her hometown
of Pueblo, Colorado with her father, Dr. James Swanson,
and they recently welcomed her cousin, Dr. Jennifer
Kottenstette to the practice. Dr. Johnson graduated
from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry
in 1995 and then completed a general practice residency
at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Johnson has been an Associate Clinical Professor
at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry for
10 years.
Dr. Johnson has a new endeavor which she is passionate
about – a DVD called “Smiles
for a Lifetime: how to care for your child’s teeth
like a mommy dentist”. She created the DVD
after having success with some of her most fearful young
patients observe her son in the dental chair and it
eliminated their fear!
Dr. Johnson describes herself as “President of
Dr. Jim’s fan club” and wants to help parents
children succeed in having the healthiest mouths possible
by creating fun habits so that families can "Smile
for a Lifetime”! Dr. Johnson is the proud mother
of two precious boys. She and her husband consider it
their greatest blessing to be parents.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Dental Association,
Colorado Dental Association, Southeastern Colorado Dental
Study Club, and graduate of the Misch Implant Institute.
Dr. Johnson loves all aspects of general dentistry!

Dr. Jennifer Kottenstette
Dr. Jennifer Kottenstette is a native of Pueblo where
she graduated Salutatorian from Centennial High School.
She attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins
for three years and was granted early admission to dental
school. After four years of dental school, she graduated
cum laude from the University of Colorado School of
Dentistry in Denver, Colorado. She then completed a
one-year General Practice Residency at the University
of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio, where she
gained extensive experience and training in implant
dentistry, IV conscious sedation, oral sedation, third
molar extractions, periodontal surgeries, and treatment
of medically complex patients. She is also highly trained
in every aspect of general dentistry including cosmetic
dentistry, root canal therapy, fillings, crown and bridge,
and periodontal treatment.
Dr. Kottenstette is certified in the surgical placement
and restoration of implants, IV conscious sedation,
and oral sedation.
Dr. Kottenstette is a member of the American Dental
Association, Colorado Dental Association, Academy of
General Dentistry, Pierre Fauchard Academy for academic
excellence in dentistry and Delta Sigma Delta dental
fraternity.
She has been married for just over one year and currently
has no children. She and her husband enjoy outdoor Colorado
sports, especially hiking, biking, running, and fly
fishing. She is also known to dance whenever the opportunity
arises!

Bennie - Office Manager
Bennie helped Dr. Jim start their dental practice in
1969 and is one of the cornerstones for our practice.
She provides the behind-the-scenes support that ensures
our practice runs smoothly. She loves to learn new things
and has fun no matter what she’s doing.
